CAPABILITIES / KEY FEATURES

Subscriptions, routing, and connection checks

Before changing a setting, understand which part of the connection process it affects. Subscriptions import server entries; Config determines how requests match rules; connection diagnostics help identify where a problem occurs. These functions are not interchangeable.

Subscribe: Import and update separately

Use a subscription link you already have. In Add Server, choose Subscribe, enter the URL, and save. Then return to Home to check the group and server entries. Updating a subscription fetches its contents again; it does not verify that every server can connect. Before updating, note your current selection. Afterward, check the entry names, protocols, and selected server. If the list is empty, first check that the link is valid and the network is working before importing it again. The example URL shows the format only and cannot be used to connect.

DEVICES / GETTING AND OPENING THE APP

Getting Shadowrocket on iPhone and iPad

Shadowrocket is available only on Apple platforms, and the App Store is the only place to get it. Verify the product page, then check compatibility, system requirements, and purchase status for your device. Refer to the App Store listing for all current details.

iPhone

Ideal for completing your first import and connection test. After opening the app, prepare your own subscription or server details. The first time you connect, the system may ask to add a VPN configuration; authorize it only after confirming the request came from your current action. A connected status means the configuration is enabled—you should still test access and check your rules.

iPad

Use the Apple ID from the original purchase to check your purchases and the product page. Universal purchase availability for iPhone and iPad is subject to the App Store listing. After restoring the app, check your subscription, selected server, and configuration file. Layouts may vary; use interface labels such as Home, Config, and Settings to find your way.

Shadowrocket is also available from the same App Store on Mac and Apple TV. See the App Store listing for compatibility, system requirements, and purchase availability.

If the purchase status shown in the store differs from what you expect, first check the account and storefront currently in use, then review your purchase history. App ownership, restoring in-app data, and the validity of a server-side subscription are separate matters. Repeatedly purchasing the app will not tell you whether your configuration has been restored.

QUICKSTART / SETUP SEQUENCE

From existing details to a verified connection

For your first setup, follow a simple process you can verify: import one set of known-good details, choose a routing mode, and test an actual connection. Avoid adding several configurations or changing multiple network settings at once; otherwise, it will be difficult to identify what caused a failure.

01 / ADD SERVER

Add your own server or subscription

On Home, tap Add Server. If you already have a subscription, choose Subscribe, paste the complete link, and save. If you have individual server details, fill in the fields for the relevant Type. When copying a link, check for extra spaces, line breaks, or missing characters. After importing, return to Home and confirm that the expected group and entry appear, then select a server. Seeing an entry only confirms that its data was imported; it does not guarantee that authentication or connectivity will work.

Updating a subscription fetches its remote contents again; app updates are handled by the App Store. These are different operations. If an entry is missing, check the subscription update result before editing the entire configuration file.

02 / GLOBAL ROUTING

Choose Config, Proxy, or Direct

To route requests according to rules, select Config and confirm the active file in Config. Proxy and Direct can help you compare behavior, but they do not replace rule configuration. If only certain domains have issues, note the differences across all three modes, then check rule order, policy targets, and DNS. Switching all requests to one route does not, by itself, mean the problem is solved.

The sample rule explains syntax; it is not a complete configuration for every network. Before copying a snippet, understand its matching conditions, policy target, and the role of FINAL. Keep the original file so you can restore it.

03 / CONNECT & VERIFY

Connect and verify real-world access

Turn on the connection switch on Home and approve the VPN configuration when prompted by the system. Run Connectivity Test, then visit a repeatable test destination and check the connection activity in Data or the relevant records. If it fails, turn off the connection and check basic network access. Then check the server, authentication, Global Routing, configuration, and DNS in order. Change one thing at a time and keep a record of the results before and after.

When troubleshooting, note the network type, which destinations fail, whether other entries work, and what settings changed recently. Do not share a complete link containing authentication details. A reproducible issue is usually more useful than full credentials.

APP STORE / AUTHENTICITY AND PURCHASE DETAILS

Verify the listing, purchase, and restore

Shadowrocket Subscription Guide · Official Manual is the official Shadowrocket website and manual. Verify the app before getting it, then set up your own connection details. Buying the client and obtaining a connection service are separate things.

Check the developer, official icon, and App ID

Open the App Store product page and verify the developer is Shadow Launch Technology Limited, the App ID is 932747118, and the app icon matches the official icon in this site's header. Similar app names are no substitute for these checks, and search result placement is not proof of authenticity. The id932747118 in the product page URL identifies the app. After verifying it, check the price and purchase status for your current account.

The one-time purchase covers the app only

Buying the client ≠ buying a connection plan. Shadowrocket is a paid, closed-source commercial app. The US storefront lists it at $2.99; actual pricing is shown on the App Store page, and other storefronts display local currencies. This site does not provide, sell, or recommend servers or subscriptions. To use connection features, you need your own existing subscription or server details. Buying the app does not create a server or extend an existing subscription.

Check storefront availability separately from your account

Whether the product appears in the store, which payment methods are available, and which currency is shown depend on your current App Store storefront and account status. If you can't find the app in search, first use this site's listing verification guide to confirm the product page, then check your store account and storefront. A missing search result alone does not mean your device is incompatible. Refer to the App Store listing for compatibility, system requirements, and purchase availability. For account or payment issues, follow the store's account and purchase process.

Restoring a purchase does not restore your configuration

On another device or after reinstalling, use the original purchase account to check your App Store purchases. Universal purchase and Family Sharing availability for iPhone and iPad are subject to the App Store listing. After reinstalling the app, check Home and Config to confirm your data is present, then verify the selected items. Even with iCloud sync, check the sync status and active items on each device. Subscription expiry and server availability must still be checked using your own service details.

App updates and subscription updates are separate

Update the app through the App Store, where you can check compatibility and release notes. Subscription updates fetch the contents of an existing link in the client, while Config changes affect rules and configuration files. If something goes wrong after an update, first identify which layer changed. Keep your current configuration and relevant records, then compare one item at a time. Don't delete all data straight away; make sure you can restore your subscription and configuration before importing them again.

READING / TOPIC GUIDES

Protocols, traffic, and app verification

After establishing a basic connection, read the guides relevant to your issue. Protocol articles explain transport requirements, the Data guide covers how to interpret activity, and the app verification guide details what to check in the store. Keep your test conditions in mind; don't generalize from a single setting or test result to every network.

Hysteria2 Protocol: QUIC Transport and Use Cases

Learn about Hysteria2 through the transport characteristics of QUIC and UDP, and distinguish protocol behavior from real-world connection performance. When adding your own server, check authentication, server name, and transport fields. Performance in high-loss or high-latency environments must be tested; the protocol name alone is not enough to judge it.

Understanding Traffic Statistics on Shadowrocket's Data Screen

Compare what the readings mean when viewed by server or by app, and how the reporting scope and test period relate to connection behavior. When troubleshooting routing, keep the server and configuration fixed, then compare records using repeatable actions. Don't treat cumulative traffic as conclusive evidence for a single request.

When an issue involves several parts of the connection, use the symptom-based troubleshooting manual to narrow it down step by step. This makes it easier to verify results than changing several settings at once.
